Eliminate Examination Malpractice From Our Education System,  Ofa Charges Educationists,  Students

Outgoing President of Oghareki Gammar School, Old Students Association (OGSOSA), Chief Dr. Henry Ogheneochuko Ofa,  has advised staff and students of the college to do whatever possible to eliminate examination malpractices,  saying that it is a cankerworm that has eaten deep into the fabrics of our educational system.

Dr. Ofa gave this advised over the weekend while delivering his handover speech at OGSOSA handing over ceremony held at Oghara, Delta State, charging the incoming executive; “to build upon the progress made so far. In fact, this administration may have to begin on the note of genuine reconciliation to bring back all aggrieved members.

“There is the compelling need to discourage lavish entertainment during occasions and concentrate the Association’s resources on the growth and development of our Alma Mata. Without sounding immodest, I wish to strongly draw the kind attention of the new executives that the goodwill of our members in Diaspora towards making the association strong by their generous and kind donations should not be taken for granted.

“We should be very prudent in our social outings, avoid frivolous and bloated expenditures and focus more on the physical development of the school which is the key to our rebirth. In fact, with the caliber of old students, both in Diaspora and here the school should ranked first in all positive ramifications.

“I wish to humbly advice the Principal, the teachers and the students to shun examination malpractices which has eaten deep into the fabric of the society and focused on their works and studies to encourage the associations to put in their best.

“It is on this note that I sincerely congratulate the new leaders and all members of OGSOSA on the milestone being achieved today.”

“I wish the new Exco well as they begin to forge a new path for our association, and it is my unchanging promise to support these new leaders in every way that I can. As we progress, I urge us to always let love lead.

“The four-way test of the Rotary Club international should always be our watchword, and we must see all our efforts towards OGSOSA as sacrifices and social responsibilities to the school that made us.”

He further enumerated some of his achievements to include; “finalization of the OGSOSA constitution and initiated the opening of an official bank account for the association (although the process of the account’s opening has been stalled due to some circumstances that I cannot explain). Also, we bought and presented a power generating set for the school’s NYSC residential quarters and reconnected the school to public power supply.

“May I also use this opportunity to thank the king of our host Kingdom, HRM Orefe III for the collaborative role of his people with our Alma Mata.

“I also appreciate the efforts of the Chairman of OGSOSA Board of Trustees, Chief Engr. Emmanuel Ighomena (my senior in whose room I served as a junior student and later became my teacher) and other OGSOSA members, particularly those in Diaspora for their immense support and dedication to the growth of the Association.”
