Admiralty University Gets First Chancellor

Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Awwal Zubairu Gambo’s has been installed the first Chancellor of Admiralty University of Nigeria (ADUN), as he was also awarded Honourary Degree of Doctor of Nautical Science (Honoris Causa).

ADUN, is located at Ibusa near Asaba in Oshimili North council of Delta State and was conceived as model but upgraded to University (private) with Global education of Luminary leaders.

Former Chief of Defense Staff, and chairman, Board of Trustees, Admiral O.S. Ibrahim (rtd), while installing the 56 years old Gambo the first Chancellor, urged him to uphold “jointly and severally the liberties, Customs, Laws and Privileges of the institution, completely without partiality, and without favour, throughout his tenure of office”.

Ibrahim said Gambo’s honour was the Institution’s little way of recognizing the quality service a patriotic leader like Gambo has distinguished himself in the service rendered to Nigeria.”

In his opening remarks, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Paul Omojo Omaji said ADUN believed and trusted the new Chancellor in taking the institution higher in academic pursuit being a hard working Naval Officer.

Omani posited that ADUN made a right choice by installing Gambo as the first Chancellor of the institution because he, Gambo is a great man who likes the School believe in “doing the right thing, in the right way at the right time for the right reasons”.

He said ADUN is destined for greatness, though the journey to greatness is doubting but achievable.

Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Awwal Zubairu Gambo, expressed delight, and thanked God as the school authorities found him worthy of the double awards and promised to offer his best for growth of the young institution.
