The Delta State Chairman of the National Union of Road Transportation Workers (NURTW), Comrade Dennis Araro, has lauded the wife of the state Governor, Dame Edith Okowa, for her generic philanthropy and care for the less privileged.Araro gave the commendation in a brief chat with newsmen in Agbor, the administrative headquarters of Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State.

The labour leader said that Dame Okowa’s care for the less privileged had stood her out as an outstanding humanist, God fearing woman and mother, adding that the First Lady had not been distracted by the trappings of office but had chosen, at great personal inconvenience, to ease the burden of the less privileged in the society.

He paid glowing tributes to Dame Okowa at 60 years of age, noting that she had devoted a great part of her life and committed much of her time and personal resources in the selfless pursuit of the general well being of the vulnerable people in the state and beyond.

Comrade Araro particularly noted Dame Okowa’s commitment to the welfare of widows and other less privileged women, inmates of correctional centres in the state as well as patients stranded in hospital on account of inability to offset their hospital bills and prayed God to replenish her stock and grant her longevity in good health for a life of all round fulfillments.Arar
