Delta State Attorney-General and Commissioner For Justice, Isaiah Bozimo Esq has advocated for an institutionalised data sharing structure between the International Organisation for Migration and NAPTIP as well as the states agencies saddled with the responsibility of tackling human trafficking and irregular migration.

Mr . Bozimo made the call while speaking at the Crown FM which was monitored in Asaba.

He said that the State Ministry of Justice had proposed a draft bill against human trafficking and irregular migration, adding that when the bill was enacted , the state would have institutionalised structure that would in turn make case data sharing understanding with the national and international organisations in the fight against the menace.

Mr. Bozimo stated that the Delta State Taskforce on Human Trafficking and Irregular Migration would act as a centre point where different agencies would collaborate so as to ensure that there was no disjuncted approach and efforts in the campaign against human trafficking and irregular migration.

He stated that there was need to come together as one focal point to ensure that they directed and coordinated their fight against human trafficking effectively.

The Attorney-General noted that data collation was important, stressing that unfortunately the State could not have such data as a result of the international aspects to human trafficking even as he said that there were several of such organisations involved in different levels .

He said that the taskforce on human trafficking and irregular migration would intensify efforts at ensuring that there was adequate social awareness campaign as part of the strategies to tackle the issue.
