Bozimo Underscores Importance Of Chief Judge’s Visit to Custodial Centres

The Honourable Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice Delta State , Isaiah Bozimo Esq., has described the visits to Custodial Centres in the State by the Chief Judge as an integral part of effective justice delivery in the State.

Bozimo who fielded questions from journalists at the Ogwashi-uku Medium Custodial Centre, at the conclusion of the Chief Judge’s visit to Custodial Centres in the State for the second quarter of 2022, said he was very delighted with the outcome of the exercise.

He explained that the visits was to ensure that the Correctional centres were meant for only those that were legitimately supposed to be there and not those who have no case disclosed against them.

He said the visits has helped to decongest the Correctional Centres and has brought orderliness in the system.

The Honourable Attorney-General maintained that the exercise has also enhanced efficiency in the system.

He commended the Chief Judge of Delta State, Theresa Diai, the Staff.of the Ministry of Justice, Judiciary staff, and Officers the Nigerian Correctional Service, Security agencies for their role in the successful exercise

At the end of the visit to Ogwuashi-Uku Correctional Centre, a total of 16 inmates were set free. In addition 5 inmates from Agbor Custodial Centre were equally freed.
