The Chairman of Delta State Traditional Rulers Council,  HRM Major General Felix Mujakperuo, Orhue I (rtd), Orodje of Okpe Kingdom has charged Olomu Kingdom to ensure a peaceful and successful succession rites as the transition of their departed Ohworode of Olomu Kingdom ends today.

 

The Orodje of Okpe gave this charged today when he led Delta State Traditional Rulers to pay home to the family of the departed the Ohworode of Olomu, HRM Richard Layeguen Ogbon Ogoni-Oghoro I, JP, at his palace.

 

He described the departed reverred monarch as “A father whom we loved so much. Whenever we were having meetings, he always takes the opening prayers for us. Because he was a Royal Canon. He has seen it all and God blessed him with wisdom and above all, he was intelligent and reads without glass. Before his departure, we had our last meeting here which he presided. We will surely miss him.

 

“I plead with the first son to hold the children and the family together.  We don’t want to hear that, his family and the children are not united. We also plead with Olomu Kingdom to ensure that the succession rite of the next Ohworode is s devoid of Court case and rancor. We want to hear that, Olomu Kingdom have a new king as soon as possible.”

 

In an interview with newsmen, HRM Obikikachukwu, Obi of Ubulu-Uno 2nd Vice Chairman, Delta State Council of Traditional Rulers, prayed God to grant the family the fortitude to bear the loss and grant the children the wisdom to sustain the legacy that Papa left behind.

 

On his part, HRM King Monday Obukowho Whiskey, Paramount Ruler of Idjerhe Kingdom, said; “To the glory of God,  the departed Monarch of the great Olomu Kingdom was a father and a Leader from all flares of life. He was a king that has regards for everybody irrespective of your age and status. What matters to him is what you’re presenting. He was a man of peace and very intelligent, that at his age, he was reading without glass. And he always reminds us of every decision of our previous meetings and that’s a special gift.

 

“Our prayer and wishes is that God should bless us just the way He has blessed our departed father and I pray God to sustain us just the way He has sustained him.

 

“The great Idjerhe Kingdom has come here to pay condolence visit to the children and family of our departed Royal father. In his life time, he has made peace, worked for peace that is why we are here.”

 

 

While in his vote of thanks, the Otota of Olomu Kingdom,  Olorogun Macaulay Ovbagbedia,  commended the Delta State Council of Traditional Rulers over the visit and promised that, the relationship between Olomu Kingdom and the State Traditional Rulers Council will be maintained, as well as a peaceful succession.
