Ogbimi Visits New Delta State University of Science and Technology, Ozoro, Commends Okowa

The Honourable Member representing Isoko North Constituency at The Delta State House of Assembly,  Hon Jude Omena Ogbimi, recently, embarked on a fact finding visit to Delta State University of Science and Technology Ozoro to ascertain some of the infrastructural needs of the University ahead of it’s kick off come September,  2021.

Hon Ogbimi who was accompanied by the Vice Chairman of Isoko North Local Government Council,  Hon Chief Frank Ozue, former Secretary to Isoko North Local Government Council,  Barr. Sir Vote Umukoro was received by the PRO of the former Polytechnic, Mr Peter Onochie and Dr Meyer Jacobs, Director of Academic Planning on the tour round the University,  as he expressed his readiness to lobby the Executive Arm to attract more infrastructures to the University.

According to the Lawmaker; “Arising from several complaints I received about the newly upgraded University, I had to embark on this fact finding visit. From my assessment, I am really impressed with the progress made so far, though there is room for improvement which I will convey to His Excellency, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, in ensuring that the University functions effectively. I never knew the facility was this huge. I must appreciate our Governor for this upgrade because it will boost the economy of Isoko north and Isoko nation in entirety.”

“I appeal to my Constituents and the entire Isoko nation to remain calm because I have seen the enormous work the Governor is carrying out first hand and there is room for more to be done. I will ensure that our people get what is due to them.” Hon. Ogbimi added.

On his part, the Public Relation Officer of the former Polytechnic who took the Honourable member on the tour of infrastructures on ground for the take off of the University,  Mr Peter Onochie said; “We are indeed impressed by the visit of the Honourable member. This is to show that he has the institution and his constituents at heart.”

“Myself and the Director of Academic Planning of the Former Polytechnic,  Dr. Meye Jacob who received the Honourable Member and his team, we have briefed him on some of the ongoing infrastructures and already developed infrastructures for the kick off of the University of Science and Technology come September, 2021.”

Some of the infrastructures visited by the Honourable Member, his team and the Public Relation Officer,  Mr Peter Onochie and Dr. Meye Jacob, Director of Academic Planning of the former Polytechnic  includes; the newly built well furnished E -Library awaiting commissioning and handing over to the institution,  ongoing construction of the University Senate Chamber.

Others are, ongoing construction of Environmental studies, newly built Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Information Technology, Faculty of Engineering, among others.

The Lawmaker also visited the Aradhe Primary Health Centre,  though under the local govt council, he promised to work in synergy with the authorities in charge to ensure that the Primary Health Centre is given a new look along side equiping the facility with  medical equiments .
