Residents of Ozoro, headquarters of Isoko North Local Government Council, Delta State, today, Thursday, 5th April, 2022, took the streets protesting against the none implementation of the White Paper Committee reports and resolutions on boundary adjustment in the disputed land between Ozoro and Oleh.

The peaceful rally protest, which started in the early hours, was led by the leadership of Ozoro  Progress Union (OPU), the  apex body in charge of the administrative duties of Ozoro Kingdom, Hon Chief Miller Akpoili, grounded commercial activities in the community for several hours.

Speaking with newsmen, the President General of OPU, Hon Chief Miller Akpoili,  said the protest was against none implementation of the White Paper Committee reports and resolutions on the boundary adjustment of the disputed land between Ozoro and Oleh by the Delta State Government.

He said; “I am very distressed at the manner in which the Delta State Government has handled this disputed land crisis between Ozoro and Oleh which has lingered on since last year.

“We have been waiting since May last year for the State Government to brief both communities on the  reports and resolution of the Constituted Committee on the boundary adjustment of the disputed land. But till date, we have not gotten any response from the State Government to that effect.

“So our request as a Community both involved in the land dispute, is for the State Government to brief us on the reports and resolution of the Committee and let us know our boundary.”

In a related development, our correspondent reports that residents of Oleh, headquarters of Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta  State, also protested against none implementation of of the White Paper Committee reports and resolutions on boundary adjustment in the disputed land between Ozoro and Oleh.
