The President General of Auchi Polytechnic Alumni Association (APAA), Comrade Godspower Omadhebor has stated that, the development of Auchi Polytechnic was the core mandate of the association.
Comrade Omadhebor stated this at the Annual National Executive Meeting (NEC) Auchi Polytechnic Alumni Association, held at the Mini Auditorium of Delta State University of Science and Technology, Ozoro, headquarters of Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State.
He harped on the need for members of the association to contribute to the development of the institution, positing that, only Government cannot develop tertiary institutions under it’s care due to the vast population of Nigerians.

The President General of the Alumni Association, also commended members of the association for deeming it fit to attend the annual NEC conference as well as the Rector of Auchi Polytechnic, Engr. Mustapha Adebayo Zubair and Vice Chancellor of Delta State University of Science and Technology Ozoro, Prof Jacob Snapp Oboreh on the role they played in ensuring that the meeting was hold.
Comrade Omadhebor while delivering a lecture with theme; “Infrastructural Development: An Obligation of Ex Students to their Alma mater,” he said; “To build infrastructure in Auchi Polytechnic which is our Alma mater, from time to time is one way of giving back to the institution that made us what we are today.”
“Today, we are very free to go back to Auchi Polytechnic because the Alumni Association has a Secretariat in the Polytechnic where we all can go and have meetings, sleep over in our guest house and felicitate with the younger ones in the institution. This is how it ought to be for an Alumni Association.”
“If you go to Auchi Polytechnic, the Drawing Studio of the Engineering Department which was donated by the Alumni Association to the School of Engineering Faculty in the institution gives us a sense of belonging to the Polytechnic. Also today, we the Alumni Association are building a 1000 seating capacity classroom storey building for the School of Business.”
He further stated that, “Over 1000 persons equipped themselves with knowledge under the various infrastructures being built by Auchi Polytechnic Alumni Association and this gives us joy as Alumni Association that we are impacting on the younger ones coming into the Polytechnic. We as Alumni Association of the Polytechnic should look forward and be financially committed to the infrastructural development of the Polytechnic.”
“We should endeavour to reach out to various persons out there who will know that passed through Auchi Polytechnic and enlighten them on the need to join the Alumni Association of Auchi Polytechnic.” Comrade Omadhebor added.
Also speaking, the Acting Rector of Auchi Polytechnic, Engr. Mustapha Adeboye Zubair, who was represented by Barr. Mahmud Garuba, Dean School of General Studies, he said that, “The commitment of members of the Alumni Association in the affairs of Auchi Polytechnic has made the relevance of this body more important than how it was in the past.”
“There is the need for all of us to come together to see how we can contribute to the development of Auchi Polytechnic. I therefore called on each and everyone of us to ensure that we work together to develop Auchi Polytechnic.” The Acting Rector posited.
