The Special Assistant to the Speaker of House of Representatives on Members Affairs, Hon. Chamberlain Nnamdi Dunkwu, has described His Excellency, Late Rt. Hon. (Prince) Sam Onyeka Obi, as a political collusus, go-getter, who made his mark in the political history of Nigeria.
Hon. Dunkwu made the statement on the occasion of Celebration of Life and Times of Late Pince Sam Obi, organised by illustrious sons and daughters of Ute-Okpu community, held weekend at Etiti Primary School, Ute-Okpu in Ika North-East Local Government Area of Delta State.
He expressed joy over the honour done one of their illustrious sons who until his death was a political rallying point for the people of Ute-Okpu, adding that Late Sam Obi left a big shoe that may be difficult for other politicians from the community to step.
He noted that Late Sam Obi inspired so many citizens of the community both in politics and other spheres of life. He expressed joy that the Late former Acting Governor and former Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, was celebrated as a hero of our generation by his kinsmen and the government of the day.
Dunkwu, an emerging political force in Delta State, expressed gratitude to son and daughters of the kingdom for putting up the ceremony that has been described as a step in the right direction towards uniting the people.
He thereby advised his kinsmen not to dampen the spirit of unity that the death of Sam Obi has brought to the kingdom, noting that even in death, “the Prince with royal blood still foster unity amongst his people.”
He assured that he will improve on the legacies of Late Prince Sam Obi as one of his political benefactors.
