The Delta State Police Command led by CP Ari Muhammad Ali today confirmed the arrest and detention of one Louis Okandeji who allegedly defiled four years old girl in Warri.
He said the suspect was arrested for the offence of defilement.

He also noted that the suspect is thirty four years and not thirty nine years.
According to CP Ali,”Louis Okandeji ‘m’ 34yrs was arrested for the offence of defilement on 1st June 2021, after the mother of the victim reported at ‘A’ Division Warri that her Daughter who is 4yrs old was allegedly defiled on the 1st of may 2021 by the said suspect.”
He said,”At no time did the Police release the alleged suspect as he is still in custody. Case is currently under investigation.”
CP Ali urged members of the public to ignore any report contrary to the fact stated above, as such post is only aimed at discrediting the image of the Command by some disgruntled elements who are only bent on sabotaging the effort of the Delta State Police Command and also put the image of the Police in a bad light.
He also called on online media handlers and other publishers to always contact the Delta State Police public relations officer for clarification before publishing their stories that bothers on police and security so that wrong information will not be passed to members of the public.
He warned that the Command will ensure that those faceless groups without any professional ethics whose goal is to pull down the the good effort of the command who derive pleasure in spreading fake news arrested and made to face the wrath of the law.
Our Correspondent had earlier reported that a thirty nine year old man, Louis Okandeji allegedly defiled a three year old girl in Ogunu Community in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State.
In the report, it was alleged by the Delta State Secretary General of the Committee for the Defence of Human Right (CDHR), Comrade Israel Joe that the Divisional Police Officer, DPO of “A” Division in Warri allegedly released the suspect.
Meanwhile, the Delta State Secretary General of the Committee for the Defence of Human Right (CDHR), Comrade Israel Joe, when contacted, said the claim that the man was not released was not true as the CDHR members saw the man in Ogunu Community in Warri boasting that nobody can do him anything.
According to Comrade Israel, “They rearrested him and claimed he is in their custody. We saw him (Suspect) boasting in Ogunu Community that nobody will do him anything.”
“I don’t want to trade words with Delta State Police Command because we are in a good relationship with the Command. All we need is justice for the poor girl.”
