WARRI: Yet-to-be identified gunmen have reportedly killed a man identified simply as Mr. Empowering, former defence chairman in Igbudu community, Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State.

It was gathered that the former defence chairman was shot dead  in the early hours of Sunday, at Hausa Quarters by God’s Kingdom Society GKS.

Sources within the vicinity said that the unknown gunmen killed Mr Emio for what they cannot say was the reason why he should be cut in his prime.

According to our sources, “Nobody can say anything now as we were made to understand that he was shot dead in the early hours of Sunday. He is the former defence Chairman of Igbudu Community. The news came in this morning that, Emio is dead.”

“This is not the first time we are having this kind of killing within this month. The secretary of the defence was also killed not up to a month now. Before they killed him, (defence secretary) they tied his hands, legs and mouth and then threw him inside river.”

“Today, Sunday. May 23, 2021. they have killed the chairman, collected his gun from him. All these happened within the space of one month. But, how can people in a society like this just be killing people, just like that. It means nobody is safe anymore.”

“Two day ago, a woman selling agbo was robbed in the morning at lower Erejuwa, in the process they stabbed her and collected over 40 thousand naira from her.”

When contacted for comments, the State Police Public Relations Officer PPRO Edafe Bright said, “yes, a man died, but the secomstancies sounding his death is not known for now. So, we can not say wether he was assassinated or not. We can’t say anything for now untill the Divisional Police Officers DPO is done with his investigation before we can say what happened.”
