Ahead of the forthcoming general election, the All Progressives Congress (APC), has issued the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State quit notice, as the Deputy Senate President, Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege officially declares his intentions to contest the 2023 governorship election in Delta State.
The National Vice Chairman APC (South-South), Elder Victor Giadom handed down the quit notice to the PDP at the official declaration of the Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege held at the Federal University of Petroleum Resources (FUPRE) in Uvwie Local Government Area, Delta State.
Giadom said Delta State is ripe to be taken by the APC. “I hereby issue quit notice to PDP in Delta State. Pack your load and go. The APC has come to Delta this afternoon to issue final departure to PDP this afternoon.”
He urged the people to vote for Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in all positions during the election in Delta State.
In the same vein, Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege declaring his intentions to contest the 2023 governorship elections in Delta State. “I offer myself as a candidate for the office of governor 2023.”
The lawmaker said he has represented the people very well at the Senate. He said by the grace of God and with the help and support of President Muhammadu Buhari, he emerged as Deputy Senate President (DSP).
While thanking president Muhammadu Buhari for his emergence as DSP, Sen. Omo-Agege also commended the Senate President, Sen. Ahmed Lawn for his support and solidarity including that of his colleagues at the red chamber.
He also thanked the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives and all for their supports.
Sen. Omo-Agege who gave a stewardship of achievements at the Senate said he has fulfilled all the promises he made the people of Delta State in 2015&2019.
He pointed out that he powered virtually all streets with solar lights, powered communities with additional transformers, renovated primary and secondary schools and provided additional health centres.
He said with his connections, the Defence Space School and a campus of the law school has been established in Delta State aside the establishment of the Federal University of Petroleum Resources, FUPRE. He said these are with the support of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Sen. Omo-Agege announced that a Federal University of Agriculture will soon be established in a Aboh, Ndokwa North Local Government Area. He said this was made possible with his efforts and support of Sen. Peter Nwoboshi.
Sen. Omo-Agege said Governor Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa has continued to marginalize the people of Delta State.
According to him, Ndokwa nation contribute to the economy of this country but the people are marginalized .
While noting that Governor Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa rode on the back of the people Aniocha North and Aniocha South, Oshimili North and South to be governor, Sen. Omo-Agege said you will not feel Okowa’s presence in that area” amongst others.
Sen. Omo-Agege also noted that majority of Delta State youths are unemployed stressing that,”Okowa wants you people to ride Okada, to ride Keke while people who are close to him drive the best cars”. He added that pensioners are not being paid their retirement benefits.
He said Governor Okowa spends a total of two billion naira on political appointees who do not contribute anything to governance in the State.
The Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello who was represented by his Deputy, Edward Onoja said,”Omo-Agege is coming. APC want to take over Delta. You need the best Warrior. When he entered Senate, he did not sit down as ordinary senator.Since 2015, he became number two in the Senate. In 2023, vote DSP, Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege for governor “.
The Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma who was represented by his Deputy, Prof. Njoku said,”Delta State has a new governor. In Jesus Name, we shall hand him over to God and he shall be next governor of Delta State”.
Olorogun O’tega Emerhor, a founding member of the APC in Delta State said since 1999, Delta State has been suffering. He said in 2013 they tried to rescue State.
“Here we have a liberator. Delta is ready for the rescue. Your suffering has ended.”
Chief Frank Kokori in a remark,expressed happiness that in his time, there shall be a change of government in Delta State.
He said for the past twenty two years, he has been struggling to liberate Delta State but the thieves in Delta State will not allow good people to rule”.
He said Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege is young, vibrant and ready to liberate Delta State.
Former APC Chairman in Delta State, Prophet Jones Erue said the PDP is an Herod in Delta State stressing that,”the Herod is dead already ”
Chief Ayirimi Emami said,”Only one person we go vote for. Hold your PVC. Don’t be afraid. Omo-Agege is the right man “.
Lucky Esijie appealed to the people to ensure that they get their PVC ready ahead of the election and they should ensure they vote for Omo-Agege.
Earlier,Delta State APC Chairman, Elder Omeni Sobotie debunked the claims that there is no APC in Delta State saying the crowd is a testament of the presence of the APC in the State.
