In a bid to foster unity among all Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) faithful in Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State, the honourable member representing Isoko North Constituency at the State House of Assembly, Hon Jude Omena Ogbimi, today held a meeting with the Local Government party executives in the area.
The meeting which was held at the Country home of the Honourable member, had the Local Government party Chairman, Prince Godwin Ogorugba and his executives in attendance.
Speaking at the meeting, Hon Jude Omena Ogbimi, commended the party executives and Isoko North PDP faithful for giving him their mandate to represent them at the State House of Assembly.
He said; “I thank God for this day, for making it possible for us to meet here in my humble abode. I appeal to you all to forgive me for taking this long before calling you all for this meeting, which was as a result of the PASSAN strike that delayed my inauguration.”
“I want to thank you all sincerely for the role each and everyone of you played during the bye election which ushered me in as your representative at the Delta State House of Assembly. May God bless you all, as we all continue to stand by the party and move it to enviable heights.”
“May God bring unity to Isoko North PDP because what we all need to crave for now in the party today is unity most especially at this critical times we are now. When we achieve this, then we can proudly say that we have recorded a significant milestone. No man has monopoly of power, wisdom and the party. The party belongs to everyone of us and everyone of us must be carried along in all party activities. We must work together to make sure that we are united to achieve a common goal for the party.”
“Secondly, we all are aware of what our State Governor, His Excellency Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa has done in all nooks and crannies of the State. I urge you all to key into the SMART Agenda of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s vision of building a Stronger Delta for Deltans.” Hon Ogbimi stated.
He further called on the LGA Party Chairman, Prince Godwin Ogorugba to ensure that he carried all party faithful within the Local Government along in all activities of the party and urged all to jettison sycophancy, which according to him was the bane of unity in Isoko North PDP. “We all are equal and we should see ourselves as equal servants in building the party and developing Isoko North.
In a swift response, the Local Government Party Chairman, Prince Godwin Ogorugba, commended Hon Jude Ogbimi for hosting them, stressing that, he and his executives were working round the clock to ensure that all party faithful within the Local Government were united. He said that, there were some cases which the party was handling in ensuring that unity was restored to the party.
Also speaking, Isoko North PDP Women Leader, Mrs Precilia Afemare, commended Hon Ogbimi for deeming it fit to host the party executives at the Local Government level and assured that, all executives of PDP in Isoko North led by Prince Godwin Ogorugba would work to ensure that Unity was restored to the party.
