In his determination to ensure that his constituents at the grassroots level are well represented,  the member representing Isoko North Constituency at the Delta State House of Assembly,  Hon Jude Omena Ogbimi has promised to organise a retreat for the 20 Councillors in Isoko North Legislative Arm.

Hon Ogbimi made this promise when he hosted the Councillors in his country home over the weekend, harping on the need for his constituents to get effective representation both at the grassroots and State levels.

In his words, “I thank you all my Councillors who are representatives of our constituents at the Local Government level. I also commend you all for giving me your mandate to represent you at the Delta State House of Assembly.”

“As Councillors, you are the engine room of the Local Government and anyone underestimating you, is hindering the growth and development of our people at the grassroot level.”

“The vision of the Governor of our dear state, Sen. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, who is our arrow head in the party and in the State should be paramount in our hearts. We must work together with him to ensure his vision is actualized in order to move Delta State to enviable heights.”

Hon Ogbimi  further added that, “From time to time,  I will be checking on you representatives of our people at the grassroot level alongside your Chairman. I want to make sure you people get whatever that is due to you and let’s work closely to ensure that our people are represented effectively. Whenever you are shortchanged,  do not hesitate to come to me.”

“In a month’s time, I will be organizing retreat for you all, where you will be trained on Legislative proceedings on how to represent our people effectively at the ward level as well to attract dividends of democracy to our people at the Local Government level. Also let us endeavour to love one another and jettison envy, discrimination and sycophancy.” Hon Ogbimi said.

While responding,  the Leader of Isoko North Legislative Arm,  Mr. Francis Udubrai, and Mr. Obibi Efeghogho, Deputy Leader of the Arm, both commended Hon Ogbimi for deeming it fit to host them and also pleaded with the Honourable member to invite them to the State House of Assembly on one of it’s plenary in order for them to have more knowledge of Legislative proceedings.
